Masquerading Horse Head

Idea

A wicker chair features a boney horse head that has stared at me from the corner of my studio for years. How and when this assembly of a wicker chairs masquerading horse head posing its boney features came about I am not certain, but its presence was reassuring – it became a natural feature of in my cluttered studio.

It offered a portrayal of something of its own reality and for my own respect for the strangely misplaced arrangement of things, especially with the surrounding colors of half painted canvasses near and in front of it. But as I painted, they orchestrated the realities that became paintings along with in the painting as a painting.
