Over the years, I’ve painted without much thought of exhibiting. Contemporary thoughts on the art of painting is perplexing; so much effort is spent on the presentation of the art as fast as possible, there’s none left for its enjoyment.
My paintings are the result of the very slow gradual evolvement of painting over time. Taking time in my art has granted me a sense of hope despite living in America’s Rust Belt and watching once dominant industries wilt away. In a way, this whole process is one of transformations – translating from one meaning to another.
